Truck Helicopter Reveal

Clark Reder Engineering completed the structural design of lifting frame and rigging for the reveal of the 2019 Chevy Silverado at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas . At the start of the media event, a helicopter appeared from behind the main scoreboard with the Chevy Silverado strapped to the lifting frame suspended one hundred feet below from a single lifting line . Hovering over the infield of Texas Motor Speedway, th e helicopter descended until the lifting frame was resting on the ground , at which point the truck drove off to be displayed as part of the reveal event. T his custom steel lifting frame consisted of steel HSS tubes , bent plates, and angles with rated rigg ing hardware. The custom steel frame consisted of a lower and upper assembly so that the lower assembly could be detached from the upper assembly to allow the helicopter to fly away after delivering the truck as part of the reveal. The upper frame consiste d of custom steel plates, HSS tubes, and adjustable rigging lines up to the single lifting synthetic rope to allow for adjustment to ensure the center of gravity of the truck and frame were in line with the support.
