Sesame Place 2

Clark Reder Engineering conducted a structural analysis of the various façade s, awning s and sculptures for Sesame Place in Chula Vista, California. These scenic facades, designed to replicate the aesthetic of “ Hooper ’ s Store ” from Sesame Street , consist of m ultiple flats are bolted together to form each façade, which are then attached to the building's light - gauge framing. The project also includes awnings, such as the Newsstand awning, and a variety of additional scenic elements, including Cookie Monster ’ s head, themed cornices, the Sesame Place sign, and the Sunny Day Café façade. This project demonstrates CRE ’ s ability to combine rigorous structural engineering with the unique challenges of designing and evaluating themed entertainment elements.
