Sesame Place 2

Clark Reder Engineering conducted a structural analysis of the various façade s, awning s and sculptures for Sesame Place in Chula Vista, California. These scenic facades, designed to replicate the aesthetic of “ Hooper ’ s Store ” from Sesame Street , consist of m ultiple flats are bolted together to form each façade, which are then attached to the building's light - gauge framing. The project also includes awnings, such as the Newsstand awning, and a variety of additional scenic elements, including Cookie Monster ’ s head, themed cornices, the Sesame Place sign, and the Sunny Day Café façade. This project demonstrates CRE ’ s ability to combine rigorous structural engineering with the unique challenges of designing and evaluating themed entertainment elements. By inte grating strength and stability with creative design requirements, CRE ensured the scenic facades are safe, durable, and visually captivating
